No more high street furniture!

What is it with the furniture stores along Kings Road and Westbourne Grove (just to name a couple)? Why are the furniture prices so outrageous? Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous furniture, at least most of it, but when you look at the price tag, it's more of an investment then something you'd like to lounge on.
